About Retool
You describe an app in natural language, or drag in a screenshot, PDF or design file, and the AI-native builder writes the code, builds the pages and wires up your data. Apps from the previous builder keep working in what Retool now calls the classic app builder, SQL or JavaScript can be written almost anywhere, and you can import JavaScript and Python libraries and add custom React components.
Coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor can build and deploy apps through Retool's MCP server or CLI, and apps made in Lovable, Replit or plain React can be imported as a ZIP or synced from GitHub. The integrations page covers PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, Salesforce, Stripe and Slack, any REST, GraphQL or SOAP API, and model providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini.
Workflows run on a schedule or from a webhook, with 500 runs a month on Free and 5,000 on Team and Business, and additional runs are sold at $75 per 5,000 a month. AI agents are billed by the hour outside the AI credit pool, with up to 20 free hours a month on every plan, and Retool also offers a managed PostgreSQL database and native mobile apps for iOS, Android or as a PWA.
Business adds metered external users, embedded apps, audit logs, rich permissions and unlimited environments. Enterprise is custom-priced and billed annually, and its card lists Retool Cloud, self-hosted or air-gapped deployment, up to 6 instances and audit-log streaming; the FAQ says self-hosted setup takes about 15 minutes via Docker.
