About Perplexity Spaces
Perplexity Spaces is a web app that gives teams shared research workspaces with custom knowledge sources.
Its distinction is grounding plus collaboration: teams work in shared workspaces and can upload files and documents so answers draw on their own context rather than the open web alone.
It runs in the browser with no desktop or mobile app, requires a Perplexity account, and ties workspaces to the Perplexity ecosystem. A free tier exists but restricts file uploads, storage, or collaboration; the paid Pro options lift those limits. It suits teams already on Perplexity, less so anyone avoiding vendor lock-in.
Among AI web apps, Spaces is the team- and knowledge-source layer on top of Perplexity's search, versus standalone chat tools that don't center shared workspaces.
