About AutoEdit
AutoEdit runs as a panel inside Premiere Pro: you open the plugin, type a prompt or just hit Auto-Edit, and Claude reasons over the spoken audio about what should stay or be cut. It removes silences, filler words such as 'um' and 'uh', failed attempts and repeated takes, keeping the best take, and shows what Claude kept and cut before you apply the result to an editable timeline. AutoEdit says it is built for spoken-word footage such as talking-head videos, podcasts, tutorials and vlogs.
Podcast Mode builds a multicam first pass: you match each speaker to a camera track linked to their own microphone audio, AutoEdit analyzes who is talking and plans the switches, and you set switching frequency and minimum shot duration before applying the edits. AutoEdit says it can transcribe and caption in 99+ languages, and its AI resizing turns one edit into vertical videos without keyframing every shot.
The Free plan's seven tools are Paste Image, Silence Cutter, B-roll Library, Sound Effects, Motion Graphics, Auto Reframe and Music Library; Motion Graphics holds 90+ free caption presets and MOGRTs, and B-roll Library's Quick Select keeps the middle 50% of each clip on a new sequence without touching the originals. Music Video Mode is an add-on sold as a one-time purchase inside the plugin, and Event Recap Mode is announced as a coming add-on.
Paid plans are usage-based, with separate monthly allowances for transcription and for Claude AI processing. Billed monthly, Lite is $9.99, Creator $29, Pro $79 and Business $199 a month; billed annually, Lite is $95.90 a year, Pro $767.88 and Business $1743.24, and Creator costs $176.34 for the first year, then renews at $292.32 a year.
